Hi everyone! I’m so happy you found amandahaascooks.

I’m Amanda. I’m a cookbook author, brand ambassador, cooking video host, and recipe developer. I guess I’m also a business owner. I’ve been in business for myself for about a year now, but I had no idea I was starting my own company when I struck out on my own to free-lance. It’s just hitting me now. (Like, right this very minute.) I have two teenage sons who are my biggest food critics, but secretly I know they’re into my work.

What am I doing at amandahaascooks? I wanted a place to bring all of my work together to share with you! I hope this site becomes a trusted resource for you to find recipes that are delicious and good for you; to check what I’m up to when I’m out in the food world; and to watch my home cooking content come to life this summer as I launch a new concept and cookbook simultaneously! (Oh yeah, there’s a kitchen remodel happening in there, too.)

I won’t be inundating you with daily emails. I’ll only blog when I have something special to share with you all-about once a week max.

Things to know about me:

  1. I’m gluten-free so my cooking is, too. And I don’t use a ton of dairy.

  2. I don’t take my job too seriously. (Hint: it’s a blast!)

  3. I cook simple, clean food that is heavy on the veg and protein.

  4. I love honest, authentic people who tell it like it is.

  5. I get really excited for other people’s successes and for myself when good things happen.  Basically, I’m 40% golden retriever puppy, 40% cheerleader, and 20% realist who thinks life is your own to create!

  6. I have a bit of a potty mouth. I curse when I’m really excited about something great. Sadly, my sons have picked up on the hypocrisy of it all, so I’m working on it.  e.g. “Hamilton was so f’ing amazing! Let’s go see it again, Boys!” #workinprogress

  7. I’m dying to be featured in People Magazine’s segment, “What’s in her bag?” (Warning: it’s a total sh—show in there. OOPS! Language!)

  8. Cooking does not have to be expensive, time consuming, or hard to be fantastic.

  9. I love to laugh. I’m most comfortable when making fun of myself.

  10. I refuse to get dressed up to do errands. If you see a woman in slippers and sweats with no makeup, it’s definitely me.

  11. If you followed my old blog One Family One Meal, you know I love a good hashtag.  I make up new ones all the time.  Consider yourself warned.

Thank you so much for checking out my site. Don’t forget to sign up on my mailing list if you’d like to be entered to win a super cool swag bag!  And follow me on Instagram @amandahaascooks for a second chance to win.

Have a great week in your kitchen!
