1). How did you figure out that this ‘work’ was your calling?”

I was fortunate to find my passion in life at the age of 5. I’ve always wanted to be a chef, but didn’t realize my hobby could become my career until jumping into my first kitchen around high school.

2). What/who empowered you to chase this dream for yourself?

My mother always taught me to try my best at anything I attempt. She knew I had an interest in food and encouraged me to explore it. She’s my biggest supporter in my life and career decisions!

3). Was there ever a time you were ready to give up on your dream? What made you keep going?

I’ve certainly had moments where I felt burnt out with cooking. I was working long hours making minimum wage, worked every night/weekend/holiday missing out on life events, was physically in pain everyday, was financially struggling, and questioned if I wanted to keep going. But it always came back to “does cooking make you happy?” and the answer was always yes despite the hardships.

4). What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? (or the worst, and why?)

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes are what make us stronger, in cooking and in life. We always learn and grow from our mistakes.

5). What impact would you like your work to leave on the world?

I hope to inspire people to follow their dreams the way I did. Anything is possible.

6). You are happiest when ______

I am feeding people.

7). Favorite quote?

“Everything you’ve ever wanted is on the other side of fear.”

George Addair
