Strawberry-Basil Smoothies with Almond Milk and Honey

Amanda Haas
Strawberries rock. Loaded with vitamin C, folate, potassium, fiber, magnesium, and a ton of other good-for-you things, they aid in brain function and protect against high blood pressure, arthritis, gout, cardiovascular disease, and more. I’ve always loved the combination of strawberries and basil, and this smoothie is no exception. The basil adds a high note that will start your day off right. (And don’t forget, herbs like basil are also loaded with anti-inflammatory and disease-fighting antioxidants.) Who knew a smoothie could taste so good and make you feel so good at the same time?
Prep Time 5 mins
Servings 2

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 12 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp honey

  • Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Starting on low speed, puree the mixture until the strawberries begin to break up. Slowly turn the blender speed to high, and puree until there are no lumps, about 1 minute. Serve immediately.
